For vehicles produced during the era from 1968 through the late 1970s (need to verify), the VIN code can be found in the following places:

The full VIN appears on a plate attached to the instrument panel, driver's side, viewed through the windshield, on the data tag, plus the left side edge of the trunk opening (usually covered by the rubber seal) and (sometimes) on the right side of the parcel shelf. The shelf cover has a removable section to expose the VIN, although you can view it from the underside with the help of a mirror.
