Chrysler Corporation Cars

  • Chrysler - 1924-1925 : Stamped on left rear frame.
  • Chrysler - 1926-1930 : FEDCO numbers stamped on plate attached to instrument panel, either in the centre or to the left of the instruments.
  • DeSoto and Plymouth - 1929-1930 : FEDCO numbers stamped on plate attached to instrument panel, either in the centre or to the left of the instruments.
  • Dodge Brothers - 1915-1928 - Stamped on frame under right front fender and on plate on toe board near steering column.
  • Dodge Brothers - 1929-1930 - Standard serial numbers or FEDCO numbers stamped on plate attached to instrument panel, either in the centre or to the left of the instruments.
  • On all models the VIN plate was attached to the passenger side door jamb from 1931 to mid-1946.
  • In 1946 the VIN plate was moved to the driver's side door jamb.
  • In 1968 the VIN plate moved to the current location on the driver's side of the dashboard visible through the windshield.

Chrysler Corporation Trucks

  • Until 1946, trucks had the VIN stamped on a plate attached to the cowl under the hood.
  • In 1946 the VIN plate was moved to the driver's side door jamb.
  • In 1968 the VIN plate moved to the current location on the drivers side of the dashboard visible through the windshield.
